Ticket Resale Policy
Kijiji requires all ticket listings and resales to follow clear rules designed to protect buyers, ensure pricing transparency, and comply with applicable laws, including Ontario’s ticket resale regulations.
1. Price Transparency Requirements
All ticket listings must display complete and accurate pricing information before a buyer proceeds with a transaction.
This includes:
- Original face value of the ticket (price set by the event organizer)
- Total price payable by the buyer
- All additional fees, including service charges, taxes, and any mandatory costs
Key Requirement
All costs must be clearly visible before purchase. Hidden or incomplete pricing is not permitted.
2. Mandatory Ticket Listing Information
Every ticket listing must clearly include:
- Event name, date, time, and venue
- Seat details (section, row, or general admission where applicable)
- Any restrictions or conditions (including age limits, entry requirements, or transfer limitations)

Listings must be complete, accurate, and easy for buyers to understand without needing to request additional details.
3. Ticket Resale Rules (Ontario Only)
As of late April 2026, Ontario law restricts the resale of tickets for concerts, sports events, and other live events.
Kijiji supports compliance with Ontario’s ticket resale regulations, including the Ticket Sales Act framework (commonly referred to as “Bill 94 – Putting Fans First Act”).
Ontario Compliance Requirements
All ticket resales in Ontario must follow these rules:
- Tickets may not be resold above their original face value
- The total resale price must not exceed the original purchase price, including fees and taxes
- Sellers must not make any profit from ticket resales
- Listings must include a clear image showing the original purchase price
Key Requirement
Any listing that exceeds face value or includes profit will be considered non-compliant and may be removed.
4. Refund Eligibility and Buyer Protection
Buyers may be eligible for a refund if any of the following occur:
- The event is cancelled before the ticket can be used
- The ticket does not grant valid entry to the advertised event (unless caused by post-sale changes made by the organizer or venue)
- The ticket is counterfeit or invalid
- The ticket materially differs from the listing description
Refund Requirement
When a valid refund request is made under these conditions, the seller must issue a full refund.

5. Enforcement and Compliance
Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
- Listing removal
- Account restrictions or suspension
- Loss of selling privileges on the platform
