Am I allowed to post tickets for a sporting event I am no longer able to attend?

Yes, you’re welcome to sell your sporting event tickets on Kijiji by posting them in the Tickets category.

If you’re located in Ontario, all ticket resales must comply with Ontario’s ticket resale rules:

  • Tickets cannot be resold above their original face value.
  • The total resale price must not exceed the original purchase price, including all fees and taxes.
  • Sellers cannot make a profit from ticket resales.
  • Your listing must include a clear image showing the original purchase price.

Any listing that exceeds the original purchase price or is intended to generate a profit will be considered non-compliant and may be removed.

Hi.

I have put tickets for sale at the original price (no profit), but the ad goes to payment page. I do not wish to pay, though. Can’t I publish a free ad for no profit ticket resale?

Thanks for sharing this context! I’d like to explain further our policies:

  • Paid Listings: Commercial event tickets, major concerts, entertainment, and sporting events carry posting/service fees across Kijiji.

  • Free Postings: Local community gatherings, indie music shows, and grassroots events can be posted for free under the Community groups.

  • Policy Enforcement: Posting commercial concerts or major events in free Community categories to bypass fees will result in the ad being removed.
