What the title says. I am unable to save any changes made in my Kijiji profile settings because the password confirmation insists that my password is incorrect. I know for a fact it is not, and just used it to log in multiple times. Looking around online, I am not the only one with this issue. I also can’t change my password to something new for the same reason: it gets flagged as incorrect. Trying to change it with the “Forgot Password?” link results in a reset email that leads nowhere when the button is clicked (the page just says “Hmm… Apparently this page no longer exists.”).
For the record, I am using the desktop version of the site and have no option to use the mobile one, and never have. This has been an ongoing issue for over a year, and waiting to see if the tech team fixes it has not seen it resolved. It has kept me from wanting to be active on the site. How do I save my settings and profile information, given this particular issue?
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues accessing your Kijiji account Jill, I can certainly look into the cause. I will send you a DM, so we can proceed with the troubleshooting process.
I’m willing to go to DM for things involving personal info, but I would like to keep this public thread open for replies so updates on the problem, and what it may be, can be seen by other people.
So far, I have further provided information regarding my browser and its usage. I have tried this on LibreWolf (FF), Brave (Chromium), and Vivaldi (Chromium). Clearing cookies and cache do not and have never worked to solve this problem on any browser. This is the only site I have had this issue on. Rebooting any user end hardware also isn’t a factor, for the old-fashioned.
Update 1: Staff have suggested that this is an issue with my browser blocking third-party cookies, despite no other site that uses third-party cookies having an issue saving site-side user settings. Use of FF or Chrome were recommended. Fresh install of latest FF release was made, “incorrect password” issue persists on the user settings page.
Update 2: It was noticed that my IP is running broadcast through the US. Staff claims this is causing the site to flag me as foreign, which they are trying to block due to the flood of spam and scam messages from other countries. It is worth noting that I can still log in, post ads, and send messages. Only password-related problems exist.
