Paid to bump add, is now on page 8

I paid to promote add for 7 days, it went to page 5 after 2 days and is now on page 8. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last month. I do not think it is fair that the Car Dealerships are taking over Add space for us private sellers. I do believe we pay more than they do for Add Space. I now understand why a lot of people are turning to Facebook and other sites to advertise. Kijiji never used to do this, it’s extremely disappointing and disheartening Kijiji.

I verified and can confirm that your ad is correctly being promoted at the top of the category :

The ad that you are seeing on page 8 is your original listing. The copy of your ad (from the promotional feature Top Ad) is at the top of the category.

Please note:

For the Top Ad feature, a 2nd copy of your ad is created and shows in the Top Ad section located at the top of the category’s pages. However, if there are more than 5 ads in the category that also have the Top Ad Feature, the ads will rotate evenly each time the page is refreshed to ensure equal visibility. Please note however that this feature does not effect where your original ad is in the category pages

Thank you for getting back to me. I scrolled through the first 3 pages again this morning and did not see it. After not seeing it, I was ticked off. Top Adds were usually on the first page. It appears that the dealerships are dominating Kijiji’s private citizen adds. This never used to happen, its very unfair for us private sellers.

They should have their own separate category to the left ~Dealership Cars & Vehicles~ then ~Private Seller/Owner Vehicles underneath so we are not dominated by the Dealerships. Actually the privates should show up FIRST not LAST, upon opening the Kijiji App, this is why Kijiji started in the first place many years ago.

The pop window to the right does not really help us private sellers. This site has become to commercialized with all the Dealerships. I believe you guys could make it a more fair and balanced place to advertise. This the 2nd time this past month this has happened, no wonder people are so confused.

Please confer with upper management in regards to this issue as it would appear, I am not the only one confused and feeling taken advantage of in the Add promotions/bump ups.
