Hi, for some reason my current ad posting for concert tickets has been switched to “inactive” for “not supplying sufficient information” even though my ad has all the necessary details I can think of adding!
Hello @Gillian1
Thanks for reaching out
Your ticket listing was removed (moved to the inactive tab) because it does not comply with updated Ontario ticket resale regulations,
— https://www.ola.org/en/legislative-business/bills/parliament-44/session-1/bill-94
which we are required to follow.
We’ve recently updated our ticket resale policy to align with changes to the Ticket Sales Act, 2017 in Ontario. You can review the full policy here:
What changed
As of late April 2026, Ontario law now requires that:
Tickets for concerts, sports, and cultural events cannot be resold above their original purchase price, including any fees, service charges, or taxes.
Listings that exceed face value may be removed or placed on hold.
Platforms are required to enforce these rules, and non-compliance can result in penalties.
Why your ad was affected
If your listing was priced above the original face value, or included a markup of any kind, it may have been automatically flagged and removed or put on hold to comply with these new legal requirements.
What you can do:
- Make sure the ad contains the price you paid for the tickets.
- edit your listing to ensure the total price does not exceed the original purchase price.
- You must include a clear photo showing the original purchase price. We require the photographic proof.
If your listing already complies with these rules, you can contact support for review.
We understand this is a significant change, especially for users who previously relied on resale flexibility. These updates are required under provincial law and apply to all platforms operating in Ontario.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
