Blocking and Unblocking Users on Kijiji
If another user is being inappropriate, harassing, or sending unwanted messages, you can block them to prevent further communication.
When you block a user:

They can no longer send you messages or reply to your listings.

You can no longer send messages to them or reply to their listings.

The block remains in place until you choose to remove it.
Important: You can only unblock a user if the conversation still exists. If the conversation is deleted or expires, the block becomes permanent and cannot be reversed.
How to Block a User
On Kijiji.ca (Desktop)

Sign in to your Kijiji account.

Open My Messages.
-
Select the conversation with the user you want to block.

Click Block below the user’s name.
In the Kijiji App

Open the app and tap Chat.

Find the conversation with the user you want to block.

Swipe left on the conversation.

Tap the Block User icon.
Before You Delete a Conversation
You may also see an option to delete a conversation.
Keep in mind that deleting a conversation will remove your ability to unblock that user in the future. If you think you may want to communicate with the user again, leave the conversation intact.
How to Unblock a User
In the Kijiji App

Open Chat.

Open the conversation with the blocked user.

Tap Unblock at the bottom of the screen.
On Kijiji.ca (Desktop)

Open My Messages.
-
Select the conversation with the blocked user.

Click Unblock.
Note: Unblocking is only possible while the conversation remains available. If the conversation has been deleted or has expired, the block cannot be removed.

Blocking a user only affects communication between you and that user.

If a user is violating Kijiji policies, consider reporting the conversation or listing in addition to blocking them.

Email Blocking Warning
Avoid blocking Kijiji emails through your email provider, as this may prevent you from receiving legitimate notifications and messages from Kijiji.
