I made a deal with a seller on Friday July 24, 2026. He went away for the weekend promising to deliver on Monday. He was delayed and I was okay with that. The Tuesday he had another excuse, same today Wed July 29 2026. This time he said he didn’t want to complete the transaction because he was too tired. I have give him 24 hrs to complete the deal or I will sue him for breech of contract. I have the record of the messages which conclusively prove a verbal and written contract exist.
What is the communities opinion on this. I would like to know. I am very upset at this seller and want the item he was selling. The Ad ID is 1740605512
Hello @John_Hubbard
Welcome to Community Connect.
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience — that sounds like a frustrating and upsetting situation.
I do want to be transparent about how Kijiji works. Kijiji is a classifieds platform that connects buyers and sellers, but we’re not involved in transactions, payments, or agreements made between users. Because of this, we’re unfortunately not able to intervene in disputes or recover funds on behalf of either party.
That said, there are a few steps you can consider:
- If you have any documentation (messages, screenshots, listing details), keep those for your records.
- You may wish to contact your local non-emergency police line or a consumer protection agency to ask
about your options, especially since money was exchanged.
- If you feel the listing or seller behavior violates Kijiji’s policies (for example, concerns about
animal welfare or misleading listings), you can report the ad directly through the platform
so it can be reviewed.
I understand this isn’t the resolution you were hoping for, but I hope these steps help point you in the right direction.
