How to Create a Listing on Kijiji

Creating a listing on Kijiji is quick and easy, and can be done from your desktop or the Kijiji app. Follow the steps below to post your first ad.

Before You Start

Make sure:

  • You are signed in to your Kijiji account
  • Or you have created an account (you can sign up if needed)

How to Post a Listing on Kijiji.ca (Desktop)

  1. Click Post Ad at the top of the Kijiji website
  2. Enter a title for your ad and click Next
  3. Choose a category (suggestions may appear based on your title)
  4. Select a subcategory if required

Visibility Packages (Selected Categories Only)

For categories such as:

  • Services
  • Real Estate
  • Jobs
  • Used Cars & Trucks
  • Vacation Rentals

you may be offered a Visibility Package. You can choose a free listing or select a paid option to increase visibility.

Enter Your Listing Details

On the “Post Your Ad” page, you can add:

  • Price
  • Description
  • Images and video
  • Additional features to improve visibility

Ad Type Options

  • Select “I want to find” for Wanted ads
  • Select Free or Swap / Trade for those listing types

Tags (Optional)

You can add up to 5 keywords to help buyers find your listing more easily.

Add Photos

  • Click the camera icon
  • Upload up to 10 photos from your device or take new ones
  • Reorder images by dragging them into place

Location Settings

Your location will default to a general area.

  • You can choose to display your exact address by selecting “Show my exact location”
  • If needed, you can adjust your posting location before publishing

Publish Your Listing

Once all details are complete, click Post Your Ad to publish.

How to Post a Listing in the Kijiji App

  1. Tap the camera icon at the bottom of the screen
  2. Enter your listing title
  3. Select a category (suggestions may appear) and tap Next
  4. Add your listing details (price, description, images, video, tags)
  5. Upload photos using the camera icon (up to 10 images)
  6. Enter your location and contact details
  7. Tap Publish

You’re all set—your listing is now live.

Save as Draft

If you are not ready to publish, select Save Draft in the top right corner. Your listing will be saved under Inactive Listings, where you can return and complete it later.
