How to Change the Location of Your Kijiji Listing
If the location on your listing is incorrect, you may need to adjust it before posting. Kijiji uses a location-based search system that organizes listings around major city centres.
This means that in smaller communities, your listing may appear under the nearest larger region or city.
How Kijiji Locations Work
Kijiji groups listings into geographic areas based on postal codes and map data.
As a result:

Smaller towns may be grouped under a nearby city centre

Search results may show your listing in a surrounding region

This helps buyers discover listings in nearby areas more easily
How to Change Your Listing Location (Most Categories)
Applies to: Buy & Sell, Cars & Vehicles, Real Estate, Services, Pets, and Community

Enter your address or postal code in the Location field.

Select the correct suggestion from the dropdown menu.

Review the section “Your Ad Will Be Posted In” and choose the most appropriate nearby area, if available.

Continue creating your ad.
Tip
If the suggested location is not correct, try entering a nearby postal code (using the first three characters is often enough) for the area where you want your listing to appear.
Services Category Note
When posting in Services, your ad will automatically be placed in the nearest available location based on your postal code.
In some metropolitan areas with multiple Kijiji regions, you may be able to select a preferred posting location.
Jobs and Vacation Rentals
These categories use a slightly different workflow.

Before starting your ad, set your desired location using the search bar.

Click Post Ad and complete your listing details.

In the Ad Details section, select your location from the dropdown menu.

Enter the address you want displayed publicly (this can be as specific as a street address or as general as a city).
Can I Change the Location After Posting?
It depends on the type of listing:

Free listings: You can edit the location directly in your ad.

Paid or featured listings: Location changes may not be supported after the ad is live. In some cases, you may need to delete and repost your listing in the correct region.
My Map Location Looks Incorrect
If the map pin on your listing does not appear correctly:

Double-check that your postal code is accurate

Try adding a full street address for better precision

Ensure your address format is complete and correctly spelled
Kijiji uses third-party mapping services to display locations. In some cases, map data may not perfectly match your entered address.
