How Long Do Ads Stay Active on Kijiji?

Most Kijiji ads remain active for 60 days before they expire.

There are a few exceptions where different posting durations apply, depending on the category or listing type.

Standard Ad Duration

Most ads posted on Kijiji remain active for 60 days.

Before your ad expires, Kijiji will send you an email notification with the option to repost your ad and keep it active.

Categories with Different Posting Durations

Vacation Rentals

Free Vacation Rental listings remain active for 30 days.

If you purchase eligible upgrades, you may be able to select longer posting terms, including options that extend up to one year.

Listings with Insertion Fees

Some categories have posting limits for free ads. Once those limits are exceeded, insertion fees may apply.

Listings posted with an insertion fee remain active for 31 days.

If the listing is reposted, a new insertion fee may be required.

Professional Accounts

Listings posted through certain professional account types remain active for 31 days, including:

  • Dealer accounts

  • Job Professional accounts

  • Real Estate Professional accounts

These listings can be reposted once they expire.

What Happens When My Ad Is About to Expire?

A few days before expiration, you will receive an email notification with the option to repost your ad.

Reposting extends your ad for the same duration as the original posting period:

  • A standard 60-day ad receives another 60-day posting period.

  • A 31-day professional or insertion-fee listing receives another 31-day posting period.

Reposting also refreshes your listing and places it back among the newest ads in its category.

What’s the Difference Between Reposting and Bumping Up an Ad?

Reposting is available when an ad is nearing expiration or has already expired. It creates a new posting period and refreshes the listing’s position.

Bump Up is a paid feature that moves an active ad closer to the top of search results before it expires.

If your goal is simply to improve visibility while your ad is still active, a Bump Up may be the better option.

What Happens After an Ad Expires?

Once an ad expires:

  • The listing is no longer visible to buyers.

  • The ad moves to your Inactive Ads section.

  • You can repost the ad at any time during the next 60 days.

Expired ads remain available in Inactive Ads for up to 60 days after expiration.

If the ad is not reposted within that period, it will be permanently removed from Kijiji.

How Do I Repost an Expired Ad?

On Kijiji.ca (web)

  1. Sign in to your Kijiji account.

  2. Select My Ads.

  3. Open the Inactive Ads section.

  4. Locate the ad you want to repost.

  5. Select Repost.

In the Kijiji App

  1. Open the Kijiji app and sign in.

  2. Tap Listings.

  3. Open Inactive Ads.

  4. Select the listing you want to repost.

  5. Tap Repost.
