If You Cannot Find your Kijiji Listings - Where is my ad?

Why Can’t I Find My Listing on Kijiji?

If you’ve recently posted a listing but can’t find it on Kijiji, don’t panic. In most cases, your ad is still being processed, requires additional action, or is simply difficult to locate using your current search criteria.

Use the steps below to determine why your listing may not be appearing.

1. Check Whether Your Listing Is Active

The easiest way to verify the status of your listing is from your account.

On Kijiji.ca (web)

  1. Sign in to your Kijiji account.

  2. Open the Navigation Menu (profile photo, person icon, or K icon).

  3. Select My Ads.

On the Kijiji App

  1. Open the app.

  2. Tap Listings.

Review your listing status to determine whether it is Active, Pending, Inactive, or On Hold.

2. Your Listing May Still Be Processing

Newly posted or recently edited listings may take some time to appear in search results.

If you’ve recently:

  • Posted a new listing

  • Edited an existing listing

  • Added photos

  • Purchased a promotion or feature

Allow some time for the changes to be processed.

Any paid features or promotions will become active once the listing is live.

3. Your Listing May Be Pending Activation

If your listing appears in the Inactive section of your account, it may require additional action before it can be published.

To check:

  1. Open My Ads (Web) or Listings (App).

  2. Select the Inactive tab.

  3. Look for any messages requesting payment or activation.

If prompted, select Activate Ad and complete any required steps.

4. Your Listing May Be On Hold

In some cases, a listing may be temporarily placed on hold for review.

If this happens, Kijiji will generally send an email explaining the reason and any next steps required.

Be sure to check:

  • Your inbox

  • Spam or junk folders

  • The email address associated with your Kijiji account

5. Adjust Your Search Criteria

If your listing is active but you still can’t find it, your search settings may be preventing it from appearing.

Try the following:

  • Search using keywords from your listing title.

  • Set the search location to the area where the ad was posted.

  • Reduce the search radius.

  • Remove unnecessary filters.

  • Verify that the category matches your search.

Large search areas and highly specific filters can sometimes make active listings difficult to locate.

6. Confirm You’re Using the Correct Account

If you cannot find the listing in My Ads or Listings, you may be signed in to a different account.

To verify:

  1. Open Account Settings.

  2. Check the email address associated with the account.

  3. Compare it with the email address that received the “Your Kijiji Ad Is Active” confirmation message.

If the email addresses do not match, sign in using the correct account.

7. Check for Removal Notifications

If your listing was removed, Kijiji will typically send an email explaining why.

Check:

  • Your inbox

  • Spam or junk folders

  • Any email filters that may be blocking Kijiji messages

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t I find my listing immediately after posting?

New listings may take time to appear while they are being processed. This is normal and usually resolves automatically.

My listing is active, but I can’t find it in search results.

Try searching with fewer filters, using keywords from the title, and narrowing your search area to the location where the ad was posted.

Why isn’t my listing showing in My Ads?

This usually means you’re signed in to a different account than the one used to post the listing.

Will promoted listings appear immediately?

Promotions and paid features become active once the listing itself is live and visible on Kijiji.

Why is my GI Joe Crash Crew FireTruck not showing up in a search

Thank you for your patience Brian, I have been discussing with the Development Team as more and more users are encountering the same issue. Sometimes their ad in Real Estate and Pets appears in searches and other times, just ads that were posted more than 2 days ago are appearing in searching and pretty no recent ads auto populate. The Dev Team has confirmed that they are having an outage in the search filters and are working to have this issue resolved. We will update the community, once the search results issue has been resolved in our Kijiji Community Connect Forum.

I posted 2 rental listings. They are not appearing even in my ads, neither as active nor inactive nor sold. And yet, I got a confirmation email for these listings already

All my ads disappeared. I was out of the country for three weeks. I had let ads expire before I left, knowing I couldn’t respond.

I do not think they had expired for 60 days. I had almost two hundred ads.

I did not there was an auto-renewal feature. I have previously asked for a “suspend” feature that would help with being out of town.

help?

Just a quick further note. On August 10 I responded to a buyer. My ads were active then.

So clearly it has not been 60 days after expiry.

Here is my profile info.

Hi @PS1

Thank you for reaching out.

I reviewed your account and can confirm that your ads expired and were not reposted within the allowed timeframe.

When an ad expires, it remains available for reposting for a limited time. If it is not reposted in time, it is permanently removed from Kijiji and cannot be restored.

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover these ads, so you’ll need to create new listings.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us

I can see an August 10 chat with a buyer. My ads were not expired at that point. How can they have disappeared by October 1st?

Unfortunately PS1, Kijiji only keeps records and archives of previously deleted or expired ads for a maximum of 60 days from the date the ads were removed from active postings. I am sorry to say any ad postings that ran and were deleted or time expired more than 60 days ago, have completely been purged from our database.

Now message threads and chats do work at a different timeline, it is possible to communicate with users while the ad has expired. As message chats remain active for up to 60 days from the date the first initial message was sent. After that 60 day window, the message threads and chats are purged as well.

Upon review of your account, we’ve made the decision that we are not the appropriate advertisement platform for you personally or your business model. We do appreciate your understanding and cooperation. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and we thank you in advance for respecting our decision.

I post ads but as soon as I post the ad seems to be removed and I don’t understand why that is the case?
