Kijiji provides a safe and trusted platform for buying and rehoming pets within local communities across Canada. We work closely with our user community and reputable animal welfare organizations to help prevent, detect, and discourage illegal or unethical pet sales.
Listing fees for dogs and cats
Dogs and puppies
A listing fee is required when posting dogs or puppies for sale on Kijiji.
Cats and kittens
- One cat or kitten listing is free per user
- Additional cat or kitten listings require a listing fee
Why listing fees are applied
Pet listing fees are designed to:
- Discourage impulsive or unethical sales
- Promote responsible pet ownership
- Support the identification of unethical breeders and bad actors
- Improve overall safety and trust in the pet marketplace
Payment and listing duration
The listing fee can be paid using:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Visa Debit / Mastercard Debit
Once payment is completed, your listing will remain active for 31 days.
After 31 days, you may renew or relist your ad at the same rate.
Important: Kijiji does not store credit card information.
Exemptions and animal welfare support
Registered animal shelters and rescue organizations are exempt from pet listing fees.
Shelters and rescues must post in the designated Shelter/Rescue category.
Kijiji also supports animal welfare organizations across Canada and contributes a portion of pet listing fees to help fund their work.
