What is “Make an Offer”?
“Make an Offer” is an app-only feature available in the Buy and Sell category on Kijiji.
It allows buyers to quickly send a price offer to a seller and start a conversation about a potential purchase.
Please note: submitting an offer is not a payment or commitment to buy. It is simply a way to begin negotiation with the seller.
How Buyers Use “Send Offer”
On the item page in the Kijiji app, you will see a Send Offer button next to Chat.
When you select Send Offer, you will be given three options:
- Offer 10% below the listed price
- Offer the full listed price
- Enter a custom offer amount
After selecting an option, tap Send Offer to submit it to the seller.
The seller will then receive your offer and can choose to accept or continue the conversation.
You can continue negotiating directly through chat after sending an offer.
You may also cancel your offer at any time by replying in the conversation that you are no longer interested.
How Sellers See Offers
In your chat inbox, offer-based conversations are visually marked with a hand icon and a dollar symbol, making them easy to identify.
When a buyer sends an offer, you can:
- Review the proposed amount
- Respond in chat to negotiate
- Arrange next steps, such as meeting in person to complete the transaction
Important Information
- Offers are not binding and do not confirm payment
- All transactions should be completed safely between buyer and seller
- Users are encouraged to verify items before completing a purchase
