Certain products are regulated under Canadian consumer product safety laws and may be restricted, removed, or prohibited from being listed on Kijiji. These measures help protect consumers from unsafe, recalled, or prohibited products and support compliance with Canadian regulations.

Why Does Kijiji Restrict Certain Products?

Health Canada administers laws and regulations designed to protect Canadians from products that may pose a risk to health or safety.

To support these efforts, Kijiji may remove or restrict listings that:

  • Are prohibited under Canadian law

  • Have been recalled by a manufacturer or regulator

  • Do not meet applicable Canadian safety requirements

  • Present known health or safety concerns

  • Cannot be legally sold, transferred, or distributed in Canada

Product Categories Subject to Additional Requirements

The following categories may be subject to additional restrictions, listing requirements, or review processes.

Recalled Products

Products that have been recalled by a manufacturer, Health Canada, or another regulatory authority may not be permitted on Kijiji.

Before listing an item, sellers should verify that it has not been subject to a safety recall.

Products intended for infants and children are subject to enhanced safety requirements.

Examples include:
