What Happens After I Report a Listing?
When a listing is reported, it is reviewed by our moderation team.
Reports help us identify content that may violate our policies, but listings are not automatically removed simply because they have been reported.
Depending on the outcome of our review, we may:
-
Remove the listing
-
Request changes from the poster
-
Restrict account activity
-
Escalate concerns for further review
-
Take no action if the listing complies with our policies
Our goal is to ensure that every report is reviewed fairly and consistently.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a listing be removed immediately after I report it?
No. Reported listings are reviewed before any action is taken. We assess each report against our policies and community standards.
Can I report a listing if I disagree with the seller’s price?
No. Reporting should be reserved for listings that violate Kijiji’s policies. Differences of opinion regarding pricing, negotiations, or personal preferences are not policy violations.
What if I made a report by mistake?
There’s no need to worry. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and accidental reports will not result in automatic action against a listing.
What should I do if I believe I have encountered a scam?
Report the listing using the appropriate reporting category and avoid sending money or sharing personal information until you have verified the legitimacy of the transaction.
Can I report listings that seem suspicious even if I’m not certain they’re violating a policy?
Yes. If something appears suspicious or concerning, submitting a report allows our team to review the listing and determine whether further action is necessary.
