Unable to post any kijiji ads

Hi @Rob @Hassan

I’m unable to post any ads on my account.

On the website I receive:

“There was an issue posting your ad, please contact Customer Service.”

On the Kijiji mobile app I receive:

“Hmm, something’s up. We were not able to post your listing. Please try again.”

I have already tried the recommended troubleshooting, and the issue occurs on both my computer and phone.

Hello @Christian_Rossi

Great news! Your account review is complete, and everything is in perfect order. Your account is active and ready for use.

Because of the nature of the previous issue, some glitches may not appear until you try to post an ad. If anything happens, please reach back out to me and I will investigate right away.

To make sure the changes take effect, please follow these steps:

1. **Update:** Ensure your Kijiji App and/or Web Browser are updated to the most current version. Outdated software causes many issues.
2. **Disable VPN:** VPN connections can make it difficult for our systems to verify account activity and maintain
safety. Some VPNs may restrict or interfere with functionality.
Please disable your VPN or use a different device if you continue to have issues.
3. **Log Out:** Log out of your Kijiji account.
4. **Log In:** Log back in.

	> **NOTE:** If you cannot log in, power cycle your device (turn it completely off, then back on) and try again.
This refreshes your connection to Kijiji to ensure a smooth login.

You should now be able to post. To ensure a great experience, please familiarize yourself with our Kijiji Policies:

We recommend trying to post or edit an ad now to confirm everything is working smoothly.

Thank you for choosing Kijiji. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Thank you very much for your help @Moon_Moon

Everything is working now!

Hi @Moon_Moon @Rob ,
I’m having the exact same issue. I’m posting from Chrome on a desktop in Ontario, Canada, with no VPN. When I submit my ad I get: “There was an issue posting your ad, please contact Customer Service.” I’ve tried logging out/in, clearing cache/cookies, and updating my browser. Could you please review my account for a hold or configuration issue? Thank you!

Hi @Yuxin_Li

I verified and it appears that updating your browser worked. Please try logging in again and let me know if you have any further issues

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us

@Hassan

Thank you Hassan! Now my ad can be posted without any issue. Really appreciate your quick response!!

Have a great day,

Yuxin

Hi Team, I am facing the same issue as others where after posting an ad it says - There was an issue posting your ad, please contact Customer Service. I have made a new account today and have verified it as well. I have turned on the location services on both Google Chrome and Mirosoft Edge and tried with both browsers. The same issue persists. Would appreciate your help with this.

Hello @Sumedh

I have sent you a Private Message on this.

@Rob @Hassan

Hi there. I’m trying to post an ad and am running into similar issues as above. Multiple desktop browsers used (Firefox, Chrome, and Edge), no VPN. Every time I submit I get the red banner that says “There was an issue posting your ad, please contact Customer Service”. Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We understand how frustrating it is to have your account flagged or your ads removed, and we appreciate the opportunity to help you resolve this.
To protect our community and ensure a safe marketplace, our security systems automatically flag accounts when session security cannot be verified. This usually happens when automated privacy tools mask your actual location. Because Kijiji relies on accurate location data to display your ads to the right local buyers, masking this information causes our system to default to deleting the ads to prevent potential fraud.
Common Tools That May Cause This Issue:
Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) or proxy software
Web browsers with built-in VPNs or extreme privacy modes (e.g., Brave Browser)
Mobile device settings like Apple’s “Private Relay” or private browsing location masks
Ad blockers, strict firewall rules, or pop-up blocking software
“Safe Browsing” features within certain antivirus programs
Outdated web browsers
Steps to Restore Your Access and Post Successfully:
Disable Anonymizing Software: Turn off any active VPNs, proxies, or location-blocking extensions on your device.
Check Auto-Reconnect: Ensure your VPN or privacy software does not have an “auto-reconnect” setting enabled, as this can silently re-engage the mask while you are browsing.
Verify Your Location & Browser: Reset your browser’s location permissions to reflect your actual location and ensure your web browser is updated to the latest version.
Log In Twice: Once your settings are adjusted, please log out and log back into your Kijiji account at least twice. This registers fresh, updated security logs on our system so we can verify the change.
(Easiest Option) Try an Unrestricted Device: If possible, logging in from a device that does not have VPNs or heavy security software installed is often the quickest way to bypass these technical conflicts.
Once you have completed these steps and logged in twice, please reply directly to this message so our team can re-evaluate your account and help restore your access.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to keep Kijiji secure for everyone!

Hello @Beata_K

Thank you for reaching out and letting us know you have adjusted your device.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced .

We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected, and we appreciate your patience.

I’ve carefully reviewed your account and found that the cause of the problem blocking your access is now corrected.

  1. First make sure that your Kijiji Application and/or your Webbrowser are updated to the most current version.
Many issues are caused by out of date software.

  2. Unfortunately, VPN connections can make it significantly more difficult for our systems to verify account activity and maintain the safety of the platform.
As a result, some VPN connections may be restricted or may interfere with account access and functionality.
Please disable this or use a device that does not have them installed if you continue to have issues.

  3. Log out of your Kijiji account

  4. Log back in

NOTE: If you are not able to log into Kijiji - power cycle your device - power off - power on Login.

This will refresh your connection to Kijiji and give you the best chance for no problems when you log in.
There are some issues which may not show up until you attempt to post or edit your first ad.
If you run into any more problems or have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to contact us.

We’re here to help and want to make sure you’re completely satisfied with your Kijiji experience.

Please take a few moments to review our policies before your respond to or post and ad as they do change regularly to meet new conditions.

Thank you so much for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. We truly value you as a customer and appreciate your understanding.

If you have any more questions or concerns in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we’re just a message away.
