As a buyer, give me the option to completely disable certain categories from showing up anywhere on my feed or search.
For example, I don’t ever want to see animals, vehicles, rental property, etc.
The fact that they fill my feed makes me less likely to want to use Kijiji to find things to buy.
As a photography buyer, thanks for asking! Kijiji’s search is much better that Facebook’s loose interpretation of search terms, but here’s a couple suggestions:
When I search for a 17mm lens, I mean a 17mm lens. A 17-40mm lens is different and not what I’m after.
Train the AI that if someone searches for a Canon lens, they don’t care about Nikon, Sony, Fuji, etc., so stop cluttering the feed suggesting those. While the names might be similar, a Nikon or Sony lens won’t physically fit on a Canon camera, Fuji won’t fit on Nikon, etc.
In vehicle search results, stop allowing dealers to list the monthly payment as the actual price - that should be a separate field. and dis-allow fake prices like $12345 or $0 when it clearly is not free. SOOO sick of my time being wasted with dealer ads and people too afraid to list their price.
I’ve been looking for a MacBook, and when I search ‘MacBook’ I get ads for Windows laptops, Windows desktops, Apple desktops, computer bags, etc. I recently had 11 pages of search results, and when parsed, there was maybe 15 results which were actually for MacBooks - that is 425 irrelevant results and only 15 relevant results! If it could only show ads with the term you searched for (even if only for computer-related searches) it would make it a lot easier.
I’m sorry to hear your most recent “keyword” searches is providing you with irrelevant search results Kovy, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Can you provide me further information regarding your MacBook search results? Were you searching on the Kijiji Desktop site on a PC or through the Kijiji Mobile App?
