The decision to introduce Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) was made to better protect our users and the Kijiji community. Unfortunately, cybercriminals frequently use passwords obtained from data breaches on other websites to try accessing accounts across multiple platforms.
Even if someone discovers your password, 2FA adds an additional layer of security by requiring a verification code before access is granted.
Some of the benefits include:
- Improved account security.
- Protection against unauthorized account access.
- Reduced fraud and account takeovers.
- A safer marketplace for buyers and sellers across the Kijiji community.
At this time, 2FA is mandatory for all Kijiji accounts and cannot be disabled.
