# Application Error: a client-side exception category | When Accessing Messages

## Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).

### **Overview**

We are currently aware of an issue affecting a subset of users where attempting to **mass delete messages** causes an application error screen reading:

> _“Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).”_

Following this error, affected users may temporarily lose access to their inbox and messages.

### **Impact**

- **Action Triggering Issue:** Attempting to bulk-delete or mass-delete multiple messages at once.

- **Symptoms:** Error screen appears, and subsequent attempts to access the messaging center fail.

- **Troubleshooting Note:** Logging out, logging back in, or clearing browser cache and cookies **does not** resolve this state.

### **Current Status & What We Are Doing**

Our engineering team has replicated the issue and identified the root cause. We are actively working on a fix to restore full access to affected messaging threads as quickly as possible.

### **Workaround & Next Steps**

- **Avoid Mass Deletions:** Until a resolution is deployed, please refrain from attempting bulk or mass deletions of messages within your Kijiji inbox.

- **Updates:** A follow-up notification will be issued once the fix is deployed and normal messaging functionality is fully restored.
